Workers must supply a Medical Certificate of Capacity as part of their NT workers' compensation claim. Access here.

What Happens After I Lodge My Claim

GB will contact you within three business days to confirm your claim and discuss what happens next.

GB assesses your claim using information from you, your doctor, and employer.

A decision is usually made within 10 business days after all information is received. You'll receive a letter outlining the decision and next steps.

Gallagher Bassett's reconsideration process allows an injured worker to request an internal review of a decision they are dissatisfied with. A technical specialist, independent of the original decision, will complete the review within five business days. All available information is considered, including existing file details and any new documentation submitted. The reconsideration process is optional and free for injured workers.

Enhancing Wellbeing During Recovery

The Navigator Support Program provides confidential mental health support for workers recovering from physical injuries, offering early, tailored assistance when psychosocial risks may delay recovery. Whether recommended by your treating team or requested by you directly, the program focuses on strengthening wellbeing, reducing the likelihood of secondary psychological injury, and supporting a confident, sustainable return to work. With your consent, your details are shared with Navigator to confirm eligibility and begin onboarding, ensuring you receive proactive guidance and continuity of care throughout your recovery journey.

Managing Recovery from Persistent Musculoskeletal Injury

This program supports workers recovering from a musculoskeletal injury who have experienced persistent pain for at least 12 weeks. It can be accessed through a recommendation from your treating team or by requesting it yourself. Once consent is provided, your eligibility is assessed based on your current pain management plan. If you meet the criteria, IPAR will guide you through onboarding and maintain regular oversight of your progress throughout the program.
