Gallagher Bassett Celebrates 50 Years

This year marks Gallagher Bassett's 50th anniversary. GB was created on November 11, 1962 through the efforts of Sterling Bassett and the three Gallagher brothers – Bob, Jim and John. GB’s first client was a Chicago-based company, a relationship that began on February 28, 1963. Soon thereafter, GB paid its first claim, $50 for a property loss in Chicago.

Over the past 50 years we have provided customized risk management programs and distinguished ourselves from competitors by keeping a clear focus on quality, then offering other unique Gallagher Bassett attributes in synergistic combination with our quality positioning. These attributes include exceptional strength, vision, partnership, performance and originality.
